Is CBD Oil Safe to use During Pregnancy?

While there is still research being conducted on this topic experts say that for now, women should avoid using CBD oil or CBD products during pregnancy. According to information from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, women that are pregnant or planning to get pregnant should avoid marijuana and related products. Marijuana use has been linked to low birth weight. The American Academy of Pediatrics and the U.s Surgeon General also state that women should not use CBD products during pregnancy.

If a woman has used a CBD product before she was pregnant she should mention this to her doctor. it is repeated use of marijuana that may have a baby.

If a pregnant woman wants more information about CBD use she should talk to her doctor. the doctor can talk about the possible risks and side effects of CBD during pregnancy.

Possible Risks

There is not enough research on CBD and pregnancy. Due to this, it is not considered to be safe to use. Exposure to marijuana can harm the development of the fetus. There is no research stating that CBD will do this but it is best to avoid it. CBD products are not regulated so they may contain harmful substances that may be a threat to the fetus.

CBD should not be used while breastfeeding. There is no research to show if CBD can harm the baby so it is best to avoid it.

During pregnancy, a woman may have some uncomfortable symptoms. Some things can help a woman feel better.


A woman needs to eat to help reduce this feeling. She can eat snacks often and make sure her stomach is not completely empty which may make her ill. Crackers and banana make great snacks on the good. She should avoid spicy or greasy foods which can cause more damage. A woman should use candied ginger or lemon juice to help with her stomach.


A doctor may be able to recommend a medication for sleep. A pregnant woman should not take any sleep acid without speaking to her doctor.

Anxiety or Depression

Therapy and even talking can help during pregnancy. A person should speak to their healthcare provider before they take any form of medication.

Carrying a baby can be exciting but stressful. A woman should not use CBD oil. It may not be safe and since there is not enough research it should not be used.
